I pulled this photo from the 2013 archive…
…and added this, which I presented at the first Arthaus Poetry Slam of the fall in 2014:
Let us be released.
Loosened from garden duties
all we have cultivated
has wilted in mourning.
The ground, anchor of the garden bed wall
holds us, forgives us,
as far as we can fall.
Let the cruelest season push us along
until we can pull and say, this life
is easy on me. Let us be let down
