Day Two of Poem-pitching

This day brought a different crowd from my previous market day. Here I reconnected with old acquaintances, and learned the names behind some of the faces I see all over my town–yet haven’t made tangible connections with–until now. Bits of life stories surfaced in the word-and-poem swapping here; some were too complex and personal to post, but one struck me as so sweet, I must share:

Bicycle. The couple who gave me the word "bicycle" told me, after reading this, that their relationship is long-distance. Knowing that personal detail--that they shared a few of their precious minutes together talking to me at our lovely farmers market--added some extra special warmth to my first exchange of the morning.
